Abstract: A one-of-a-kind mid-century modern home in San Francisco designed for famed furniture designer Jules Heumann has been sold after only 10 days on the market.

The prized property with amazing views over the city was snapped up in a cash deal at full price.

The spectacular three-story building was custom designed by San Francisco architecture firm Marquis & Stoller in 1965.

The space features vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with views from the Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge to Marin and the East Bay.

"It's one of the most amazing homes I've ever sold," says listing agent Tricia Knapp of Sotheby's International Realty." Its main living room is wrapped in original redwoods and has these amazingly expansive views."

From the interior wall of windows to the outdoor deck, you can enjoy the views from nearly every room in the 3,258-square-foot home.

The modern kitchen has a spacious dining area, which opens to an outdoor patio. The cozy den has a fireplace and a terrace just off the main living and dining room.

Upstairs, you will find a main suite with a fireplace, office, sitting room and dressing room.

Two other bedrooms share a bathroom and there is an exercise room that can be turned into a fourth bedroom.

In addition to being a renowned furniture designer, Herman also has a love of cars.

He served as chairman of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a prestigious car show.

"There's a three-car garage, and one of them has a double," Knapp said." He had air conditioning in the garage! When you walk in, you can almost feel him tinkering with it. He also built a parking space under the garage so you can tinker with your car. He even put an elevator in the house; that's how ahead of his time he was thinking."

The car collector died in 2017 at the age of 93. The seller bought the home from Heumann's estate in 2018.

"During COVID, their lives changed and they had to move out of town for work," Knapp said." They wouldn't have left if they hadn't had to relocate for work."

The property is a stand-alone home in San Francisco, which makes it a coveted rarity.

In addition, the location is off the beaten path.

"It's located in Clarendon Heights, which I call the 'undiscovered San Francisco Gold Coast,'" Knapp said." It's a vertical house, so it captures all the views. one of the founders of Instagram also lives on St. Germain Avenue."

San Francisco is known for its fog, and as it rolls in, Knapp says, "This home is like being in a beautiful cocoon that keeps you warm and cozy.
